Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants is an award-giving ceremony to restaurants and culinary individuals for their excellent performance. These awards give spotlight to restaurants in Asia and help to boost tourism in Asia. The first Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants started in 2013, and restaurants in Thailand have been on this list, not only in the top 50 but also top 10 best restaurants every year.
This has been an incredible year for Thailand because so many Thai restaurants have made their way to the list. With this being the first physical awards in some time there was a lot to celebrate. Here’s a breakdown of what happened at the awards in pictures and what you need to know:
Congratulations to Den from Tokyo, Japan for being this year’s No. 1 restaurant in Asia!
As mentioned earlier, Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants doesn’t give an award to the no.1 restaurant and rank restaurants in Asia but also give awards to individuals as well.
American Express One to Watch 2022 went to the new restaurant Eat and Cook, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Asia’s Best Female Chef 2022 went to Natsuko Shoji of Été, Tokyo, Japan.
Asia’s Best Pastry Chef 2022, sponsored by Valhora went to Chef Maira Yeo of Cloudstreet, Singapore.
Flor de Caña Sustainable Restaurant Award 2022 went to Mume, Taipei, Taiwan.
Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award 2022 went to Odette, Singapore.
Highest Climber Award 2022 went to Ode, Tokyo, Japan.
Highest New Entry Award 2022, sponsored by Aspire Lifestyles went to Villa Aida, Wakayama, Japan.
Icon Award 2022 went to Buddhist Nun Jeong Kwan of Baekyangsa Temple, South Korea.
Inedit Damm Chefs’ Choice Award 2022 went to David La of Neighborhood, Hong Kong, China.
