Fans of Bill Bensley mustn’t miss an upcoming opportunity to spend some time with the famed architect in a weekend of creativity at The Slate Phuket. The inspiring Bill Bensley-designed hotel, located at Nai Yang beach, will be hosting a special art-filled programme for guests staying on September 1–3, 2023, which will see Bill’s “Faroese Chronicle” painting collection transformed into a unique stage performance by Phuket’s Junkyard Theatre troupe.
Expect the artist to play an active role in the production, which will showcase stories of the quirky characters of Bill’s beloved Faroe Islands through song, dance, comedy, and storytelling. Bill’s original prints from “the Faroese Chronicle” collection will also be available to purchase at The Slate, to raise funds for both Phuket Hotels Association’s Green Planet initiative and the Shinta Mani Foundation, the latter being the original charity tied to the painting collection.
In addition, a special dinner and art-inspired lunch are available for booking for the weekend of September 1–3 only. For those who can’t make the trip to The Slate Phuket, an online auction will be opened to all to bid for amazing prizes, including once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences. The proceeds of the online auction will be added to the donation towards the Shinta Mani Foundation and Phuket Hotels Association, both of which support environmental and social causes near and dear to the architect and visual artist.
