Copper Bar Bangkok - Why We Love it

Downtown Bangkok and the areas of Sukhumvit 49 and Thonglor already offer an array of incredible bars to visit but Copper bar brings something new to the mix. The husband and wife team duo, Fern and Fabio Brugnolaro, give outstanding hospitality and a great range of inventive and Instagram worthy cocktails. Hidden next to the Racquet Club, the bar is found by the painting of Harry Johnson, the famous author of the 'Bartender Manual', a set of two red chairs and a small table. Through the door and behind the curtain you find the little den with its curved marble bar top and warm jazz tunes. It's one of those places where sitting at the bar is obligatory as its the best spot to talk to Fabio about his menu.

His drinks are playful with bespoke vessels and garnishes playing a big part. But they are not just aesthetically pleasing, they are also delicious! One-off the menu we love is "Fruit Salad". Strawberry & grappa cordial, Pistachio Syrup, fresh lemon juice, brandy, Campari, bitters make up this tasty concoction with rich Chantilly cream to finish it off. Another is "Mystic River" served in a beautiful tall stemmed coupette, mixed up with Dry Vermouth, a vodka mix of Zubrowska & Stoli, Violet, Maraschino, bitters and essential lemon oils.

Fabio is a true bartender and host and is happy to create bespoke cocktails to match your palette and his classic cocktail knowledge is superb. The best way to see this is by heading over for their happy hour deal of 'buy one get one' 6 pm - 9 pm where we always go for a gin martini perfectly made. Their 'Sunday Funday' deal is also worth the trip as you will be treated to 2 simple mixed drinks and a pizza for 499 THB, a perfect hangover fix!

What we love most about the Copper Bar is the fact that it's not just another cocktail bar, it's a friendly neighbourhood hangout where you feel like part of the family every time you walk through the door. It's a cosy venue with a lot to offer and we cant wait to see the new menu in the works for 2020.
