Below I have put together a list of all my favorite resources, blogs & products starting with the websites we use to plan and book our flights and hotels.

These are websites and tools we personally use and can recommend. I’ve also included a few tools or plugins that have helped me create this website.

At the bottom of this page, you will find our favorite courses and people in the industry that have services that you may find useful.

We will be adding and expanding to these resources as often as posible so keep checking back.

I use Skyscanner for my flight bookings. Skyscanner is a travel fare aggregator website and travel metasearch engine. It scours the interent for flights, hotels, and car hire, at the best prices.

Agoda

Agoda is one of the world’s fastest growing online travel booking platforms. I use it for all hotel accommodation to check ratings and get the best deals especially in Asia.

hostel world

Hostel world is the most reliable and trustworthy source for booking hostels worldwide. I’ve used their site often when I am in South East Asia especially.

Other travel resources

World Nomads

Offering simple and flexible travel insurance created by travellers. The site has a wide range of travel advice and articles for inspiration.

grab

Grab is hands down one of the most useful travel apps for getting around. The car hire app is the uber of Asia, but the prices are incredibly cheap with a great loyalty program.

Restaurant booking & alcohol purchasing

chope

We are official partners of Chope and use them for our online reservation bookings. Chope is a very handy app and the Chope dollar scheme means you can earn some great rewards as you dine. 

whiskey exchange

We use Whiskey Exchange to purchase all of spirits. The distributor has an insane number of spirits including rare bottles and unusual alcohol. The site is easy to use and prices are very reasonable.

The online wine course

Created by Cristie Norman, A beverley Hills Spago sommelier, this wine course is a great crash course into the world of wine. You can read more about in our Cristie Norman podcast article here. 

wine & Spirit Education trust

The WSET is the most trusted and respected traning course for sommeliers and bartenders. They have a range of course starting from level up to level 5 which is a 2 year degree. They also offer courses on Sake. 

Blogging and business resources

Elementor

Elementor is the most powerful WordPress website builder and what we used to build our beautiful site! The free version is great but the pro takes everything to a new level. Because of its pre built themes and templates you can have a fully function website in a couple of hours.

Xavier is a very cool guy, and the photographer i use for my spirit reviews and cocktail photos. Based in Brighton his portfolio spans a number of well known restaurants and bars. Go check him out! 

Tom Surgey

Tom is a fantastic wine presenter and his impressive career includes being one of the Three Wine Men, lead presenter for the Pingza wine app, Sales & Business Development Director at industry-leading English sparkling wine producer Ridgeview, a BBC Sussex wine expert and presenter of British Airways’ wine events. To top it all off he’s a good mate and has just launced a swanky new website where you can contact him for anything wine related.

Pingza is a great app developed to match wine to your palate finding the best deals to save time and money. Pingza has also plenty of educational videos hosted by Tom Surgey so you can learn as your drink.
