Sarnies Bangkok - Why We Love It

Sarnies garnered almost cult status from its first venue in Singapore and with its menu of healthy food and craft coffee now in Bangkok, we can see the same thing happening here. The uber-popular Sarnies has created a flagship cafe set in a 150-year-old heritage building, renovated to keep its original look. Located close to the Chao Phraya River and a short walk from the BTS, the Australian style brunch spot has a goal of serving simple food, big portions, and good music.

The weekends are super busy and you can expect a cue, but we say its worth the wait. Much of the food menu is organic with the majority of ingredients being sourced locally. Like the Singapore outlet, almost everything is made on-site including the delicious longan wood-smoked salmon and the mouth-watering house-cured bacon. Of course, with a name like sarnies you can expect plenty of open toast and sandwiches to choose from. A popular dish on the menu is the CB&J (cashew butter, natural local honey, roasted grapes, thyme on sourdough). Or classic Aussie-style bacon and eggs sarnie served with tomato relish on ciabatta. Being a cafe with Australian brunch influence there had to Fry-Up on the menu, complete with smoky-bacon baked beans, roasted tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, smashed potatoes & sourdough and the usual suspects. And there is an innovative “Pimp my Breakfast” where customers can create their own meal to be vegetarian, low carb, carnivore or whatever else they fancy.

The drink menu has also had a lot of detail put into it with homemade basil lemonade being a favourite alongside hot drinks such as the popular Orange Mocha (espresso with dark chocolate infused with orange zest).

What to order at Sarnies

The 'Pimp my Breakfast' is a must try at Sarnies as it is filled with the goodness of a wholesome brunch and presents different flavours together. Tom Yum Eggs Benedict is also delicious and the coffee is specially sourced from farmers in Thailand processed at their Sarnies Roastery in Soi Ton Son.
