Porter's Old Tom Cocktail

Jack Wareing joined us for episode 35 of the On The Back Bar podcast and gave us this tasty cocktail recipe using Porter’s Tropical Old Tom.

Jack is a part of the Porter’s gin family and has helped its growth and education from day 1. You can hear more about Jack and his journey through the world of gin by heading over to our podcast page.

Tropical Floradora Ingredients

This fruity cocktail comes with a nice hit of spice from the ginger!

Gin: Obviously as a Porter’s cocktail we are going to use Porter’s Tropical Old Tom. This cold distilled spirit is made with classic sweetened gin and bolstered by exotic botanicals like passionfruit, guava and white tea.

Lime Juice: Found a nice round juicy lime for ultimate fresh citrus.

Sugar Syrup & Ginger Syrup: Actually both a relatively easy to make at home with the right sugar syrups ratio. Find a nice fresh chunk of ginger for this.

Raspberries: Depending on where you live in the world it may be best to check the seasonality of wild raspberries in your area. This way you will get some large juice fruits compared to most supermarket packs.

Ginger Ale: For most of our carbonated soft drinks we opt for Fever-Tree due to it’s natural and light flavours.

For another gin cocktail but with a more herbaceous profile you can look at The Last Word.
