Mia restaurant is set in a striking stand-alone house off Sukhumvit soi 26. The unique restaurant offering fine dining and elevated casual meals Mia is run by chef-duo Pongcharn ‘Top’ Russell and Michelle Goh, previously of Freebird and Sühring (currently number 45 in the world by World’s 50 Best Restaurants), in collaboration with Chef Julien Imbert who honed his craft in iconic London establishments, including Sketch, Jason Atherton’s City Social, and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal.
They dynamic teamm have brought the electicity of the London dining and combined it with Bangkok’s fun-loving nightlife. The large house has three sections, the Rooms consisting of three drastically different rooms each with its own striking personality. The Curtain, informal dining with mouth watering and homely meals. And of course the bar, serving creative and playful cocktails.
Rooms is Mia’s vibrant dining space on the second floor where Chefs Top and Michelle offer a seasonal 8-course tasting menu, drawing inspiration from their formal training in Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe and Asia, as well as their Thai and Malaysian upbringings.
The menu itself is oustanding with each dish telling a story and captiviating in taste and aesthetics. Our favourites we certainly the Kombu Cured Hake with Cauliflower 3 ways, grapes and bergamot paired with a surpisring Joseph Drouhin, Morgon 2016 red wine.
The pace is suberb for service and each dish seems to get better as you go. To finish are two wonderful deserts with the last being a twist on Jagung Milo, a malaysian desert. It’s a combination of milk, sweet corn, and Milo which instantly transported as back to nostaligic childhood, of chocolate cereal in the mornings before school.
Chef Top and Michelle have created a stunning yet playfully creative approach to new age fine dining, and we would go as far to say this is one of the best experiences in the city.

Much more relaxed with a warming ambience is The Curtain Located on the ground floor. Featuring lively cocktail bar and eatery where diners can enjoy a selection of crafted cocktails and Mia’s signature plates and desserts in intimate and informal surroundings.
The cocktail menu is a lot of fun with Head Bartender Deedo skillfully mixing each drink. The very instagrammable 'Be a Movie Star' with Whiskey, Pineapple Juice, Popcorn Syrup and Angostura Bitter is a top pick alongside 'Casa del Fumo' with Tequila Reposado, Mezcal, Antica Formula, Spiced Coffee Syrup, Chocolate Bitter and All Spice Smoke.
The food menu, whislt more informal, does not skimp on the ingredients. large slices of ruby red Beef Wellington, Fettuccine pasta with rich Uni and Cavier both feature alongside a cult status Tarte Tatin and Vanilla Ice Cream.
