Rohit Sachdev takes the helm at Soho Hospitality, overseeing its food and beverage, hospitality, and interior design endeavours while shaping the company’s strategic direction.
Having earned his degree from the Stern School of Business at New York University, Rohit’s fascination with the hospitality industry ignited during a visit to the Royalton hotel, a pioneering boutique establishment in New York. Designed by Ian Schrager and Philippe Starck in 1988, the Royalton revolutionized hospitality with its captivating interior and focus on communal spaces.
Rohit’s culinary interests flourished in New York City, where he savored meals at esteemed restaurants owned by culinary luminaries such as Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Mario Batali, Danny Meyer, Masaharu Morimoto, Stephen Starr, and Keith McNally. These encounters served as pivotal moments, inspiring Rohit’s aspirations for Soho Hospitality today.
Rohit transitioned from Sachdev O’Dell in 2010 to establish an interior design and food and beverage consulting arm under Soho Hospitality. With a distinct development approach, Soho Hospitality swiftly carved a niche in the market, offering specialized services in interior design and culinary consultancy.
In 2012, the company marked its foray into the food and beverage sector with the launch of Above Eleven in Bangkok, its inaugural wholly-owned project. This was followed by the introduction of Gramercy Park in December 2013, Charcoal Tandoor Grill & Mixology in November 2014, Havana Social in October 2015, Cantina Wine Bar & Italian Kitchen in November 2016, and SOHO Pizza in January 2019.
Rohit’s expertise in the field regularly earns him invitations to contribute to panels at prominent real estate conferences and seminars throughout the region.
