Embarking on a new venture, the team behind Vesper, renowned for revolutionizing Bangkok’s cocktail landscape since 2014 and consistently named among ASIA’S 50 BEST BARS from 2016 to 2023, introduces 4th Wall, a fresh addition to the Langsuan neighborhood. Scheduled to open its doors on December 16, 4th Wall is poised to redefine classic cocktails by infusing them with sophistication, featuring meticulously crafted beverages and a dynamically changing menu.
Derived from cinema terminology, the term ‘4th Wall’ signifies an imaginary barrier between a performer and the audience. Breaking this barrier enhances intimacy and immerses the audience in the narrative. True to its name, our bar is committed to delivering classic cocktails while embodying the unpretentious hospitality for which the Vesper team, recently awarded Bar Team of the Year 2023 at the BKK BAR SHOW, is renowned. This approach blurs the line between bartenders and guests, creating an intimate setting.
Leading the helm are the British-born Group Bar Manager Tom Hearn, responsible for overseeing both Vesper and 4th Wall, and Bar Manager ‘Mac’ Saharat Kaewkong, former Head Bartender at Vesper and the recipient of the Diageo World Class Thailand 2022 award. Together, they lead a team of passionate bartenders dedicated to crafting both well-known and undiscovered classics, such as Corpse Reviver No. 2, Adonis, and Pina Colada. Embracing the essence of a true neighborhood bar, our daily-changing drinks menu encourages frequent visits for guests to explore a variety of classics. Additionally, we take pride in presenting a signature house Irish coffee as a menu staple, along with refreshing slushy cocktails that promise to captivate both seasoned cocktail enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
Nestled on the 2nd floor of Luxx Langsuan Hotel, the interior of 4th Wall, designed by Taste Space (known for past works like Nusara and IODE), draws inspiration from an alternative world of 1960s European cinema and its modernist vision of the future. Blending vibrant and sleek design elements with the youthful spirit and distinct sense of community from the 1960s, 4th Wall embodies our interpretation of a ‘neighbourhood bar’ meeting ‘retrofuturism,’ extending a warm welcome to everyone.
